Principle Over Party© Let’s face it – the people the people sitting in the US Congress right now have a huge amount of power over all our lives. The latest financial meltdown over the housing and credit crisis is all the example we need. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. The political class has built barriers to entry that are designed to intimidate us from public service in elected office. Those barriers are mostly illusions. You do not have to have millions of dollars to run for public office. Together we are building networks of people willing to support quality candidates. Already we have seen good people elected to city councils, school boards, state legislatures, judgeships and as Mayors and even members of Congress. Joining this adventure is simple. There are some rules we all must follow in “political” giving, courtesy of the IRS and the FEC. Read through these guidelines, fill in the boxes then just hit the contribute button. Your safe, secure contribution will come to us via Paypal, the most reliable online transaction company. Contributions to The Liberty Committee are limited to a total of $5000 per year per individual. Couples can give up to $10,000 per year. Contributions are not tax-deductible. No corporate or union contributions are allowed. Federal law requires best efforts be used to report name, mailing address, occupation and employer for individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year.
